Welcome to the Writing Center Website!
The Main Campus Writing Center is a free service offered to all students! It is located on the second floor of Lauinger Library, right beside The Midnight Mug coffee shop (217A). We offer peer tutoring by trained graduate and undergraduate students that can assist you at any point in the writing process!
Philosophy
Our tutors will help you meet your immediate goals (such as an assigned essay) as well as help you develop as a writer, and we’re happy to help at any stage of your writing process, from brainstorming to revision. Tutors will offer advice on thesis development, utilization of evidence, organization and flow, sentence structure, and more. We won’t proofread your paper for you. Ideally, we want to help you improve your own critical thinking, revision, and editing skills — enabling you to become your own editor.
